HOW IT WORKS
Throughout May, we’re hosting a virtual Movement and Mindful Challenge, inviting you to set a personal goal that suits you best.
You can take on a physical challenge, like walking, hiking, running, cycling, or swimming or focus on nurturing your mind through meditation, reading, resting, or writing.
However you choose to participate, you can do it your way, from wherever you are, all while raising vital funds for the Peace of Mind Foundation.
-
Choose a walking distance each day, week or over the month! 2, 5, 10 km or maybe you would like to accomplish so many steps per day.
Hikers may find a trail they have always wanted to complete or take the challenge of exploring new paths!
-
Whether it’s a fun-run, 5, 10, half or a full marathon event. Maybe your challenge is to make 5 different Park Run’s in May?
If you have a wheelchair, take a friend and roll into new territory to see how many places you can explore!
-
Got a bicycle? Time to oil the chain, pump the tyres and ride into May. You can set your own distance goal for the month; whether its 50, 100, 200 or more kms. Maybe you want to achieve a certain amount of elevation? The outdoors are calling you!
-
Love the water, you are not alone! Some say that you never regret a swim. Want to achieve so many laps, start ocean swimming, explore all the pools in your city, try out 5 new programs offered by your local pool, you’ll be like a fish to water in this challenge.
-
Always wanted to ease in or out of your day with some stretching and gentle activity? Yoga may be your daily challenge. Whether you DIY yoga from home, join an indoor or outdoor class, there is a style of Yoga just for you. Feel more flexible and tranquil by the end of May!
Movement Challenge
Choose a movement
or a mindful challenge!
-
Meditation is very intentional; you can choose a guided meditation or join a local group. A daily practice can become easier with time 5, 10, 15 + minutes. Meditation may be what you need to bring calm and a sense of presence into your daily life.
-
What if you could read a book in a week or over the month of May? Perhaps you have been wanting to tackle a certain book for ages? Join a book club or share with others what you are reading. Reading has certainly declined over the years but is so important to promote focus and comprehension while providing a great way to immerse ourselves. Challenge yourself to reading in different spaces and fall in love in escaping into worlds of wonder.
-
Brain cancer can bring overwhelming fatigue. For some, taking a daytime rest is simple, for others, it’s a real challenge. This May, make self‑care your priority by challenging yourself to a one‑hour nap every day. It’s a small act with a big impact, giving your body the rest it deserves and helping you rebuild your energy!
-
Wanted to write a journal each day, a story or even a book? This May put pen to paper or tap on the keyboard; to bring your important story to life. Maybe you want to write about your experiences on a social media or writing platform? May your daily challenge of writing create a meaningful and creative experience for you.
-
You may have always wanted to learn a language, practice a musical instrument, join a new class or get outside your comfort zone. This May the sky is the limit, you can challenge brain cancer your way!
